At Highmark Residential, leadership is more than a title—it’s about heart, consistency, and culture. Few people embody that better than Shellie Clark, our Regional Vice President for the South Atlantic. With 15 years at Highmark and over 35 years in the property management industry, Shellie has become a cornerstone of the Highmark family, helping shape the careers of countless team members and the experiences of thousands of residents.
Shellie’s journey is rooted in real, boots-on-the-ground experience. She’s led operations for more than 13,000 apartment homes across lease-ups, new developments, affordable housing, and major renovation projects. Her career includes leadership roles at TVO North America and Landmark Apartment Trust before finding her long-term home at Highmark. Her deep knowledge, paired with a down-to-earth, people-first approach, continues to make waves in the South Atlantic region.
What truly sets Shellie apart is her leadership style. She’s known for being approachable, inclusive, and deeply invested in her teams. Her passion lies in creating a workplace culture where associates feel seen, heard, and valued—values that align perfectly with Highmark’s mission to build not just great apartment communities, but great careers.
“Highmark is special because it encourages people to grow and stay,” Shellie says. “There’s a real sense of trust and community here, and I’m proud to be a part of that.”
Shellie holds the Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation and has actively served the industry through leadership roles with the Apartment Association of Kansas City, Atlanta Apartment Association, and National Apartment Association. But her impact goes beyond credentials—her mentorship has helped create the next generation of Highmark leaders.
Outside of work, Shellie is a proud mom to three daughters and loves reading or catching some sun at the beach. Her balanced approach to life and leadership inspires those around her to lead with both strength and heart. Shellie’s 15-year legacy at Highmark is a testament to what’s possible when great leadership meets a company culture built on trust, longevity, and heart.
